Matthew Bentley is a mastering engineer helping artists finish records they’re proud of — across electronic, jazz, alternative music, hip hop and more.
About
I’m Matthew Bentley, a mastering engineer helping artists craft honest, emotionally resonant records. I bring creativity, technical precision, and musical sensitivity to every project - whether it’s a string quartet, a techno EP, or lo-fi indie album.
Matthew is a mastering engineer based in Bristol, working across electronic, classical, experimental, and alternative music.
Known for his precision and musical sensitivity, Matthew’s approach to mastering is collaborative and detail-driven — focused on preserving emotion while helping each project translate beautifully in the real world.
He works with artists who value dynamic range, depth, and honesty in their recordings, whether it’s a sweeping instrumental, a bass-heavy club mix, or a lo-fi acoustic piece.
Matthew’s background includes both creative and technical training, and his workflow combines clean, transparent tools with characterful analog processing where needed — always led by the artist’s intent. He aims to deliver masters that feel alive, present, and deeply connected to the music.
